Wolves

Let no man glory in the greatness of his mind,
but rather keep watch o'er his wits.
Cautious and silent let him enter a dwelling;
to the heedful comes seldom harm,
for none can find a more faithful friend
than the wealth of mother wit.

Shower thy wealth, or men shall wish thee

For whom the tale told

Welcome to the ship's library with the Norseman's stories (with apologies to Hemingway). This is the fun place.

The stories are all based on real events although the names have generally been changed to protect me from the guilty.

I have a few stories on the back burner and gradually they'll find their way into the library.

Check in again and find out what's new on the shelves.

Outdoor Stories

The Story List So Far

Meadow Riders

Chapter two of the riding adventure - this one a little longer, but with the same outfit outside Merrit.

A Ride in the Forest

Reminiscences from a day spent on horseback along forest trails in the hills outside of Merrit, BC.

Skiing Mount Seymour

A tale of snow and sun from a day of skiing at Mount Seymour on the rim around Vancouver with some pictures to convey the mood.

Kon Turkey

A small story about my struggles as a child to go to sea as befits a Norwegian. The title is an obvious spoof on the famous Kon Tiki raft built and sailed by Thor Heyerdal across the atlantic from Peru to Barbados. Read the story and you'll get the point.

A Maiden Voyage

The quest for the sea continued. Here we explore the wet domain with new options. And with some success this time.

Rock Hunter

The resourcefulness of the true hunter knows no bounds. Maybe it should, what do you think?.

Mud Fish Trucking

The resourcefulness of an empty stomach knows no bounds. I'm good with that.

Bunny

All is not what it seems in the hours of darkens's. Literally.

Illiteracy goes best with butter and a beer

Another adventure involving an empty stomach and a hungry mind.

A Teal of a Deal

There is such a thing as a truly lucky duck. I have seen him.
