Digital Norseman: Logo   Sailing

"He was begotten in the galley and born under a gun. Every hair was a rope yarn, every finger a fish-hook, every tooth a marline-spike, and his blood right good Stockholm tar."

British Naval Epitaph.

True sailing and cruising for real voyagers

This is the place to hear about the various aspects of sailing, cruising, boat work and outfitting. The Norseman will talk of his experience from a two year cruise, the outfitting of two boats for cruising, the building or finishing of several small crafts and more.

You'll also be able to follow the latest project to make a tired old 26 footer ready for sea duty again.

Over time, other things may be added, I'm sure.

Stories

Everyone loves a good sea story and little by little they will come. As a taste, here are two stories for your amusement about how the Norseman got started on the sailing path.

A dream worth chasing

After a two year cruise to Mexico, we yearn for more. One day, some day, we hope to go again. I like to keep in touch with the cruising scene and have some ideas of my own to share.

Having been without a proper boat for several years, I am currently moving ever so slowly on restoring an old Reinell '26 we picked up dirt cheap. Not at all like our Westsail '32 which took us to Mexico, but then again, we only want something for local gunk holing right now.

Now there's a dream worth chasing - to go sailing again.

Stay in touch and see how it goes.
