Less good than they say for the sons of men
is the drinking oft of ale:
for the more they drink, the less can they think
and keep a watch o'er their wits.

About
"An eighteenth I know: which I ne'er shall tell
to maiden or wife of man
save alone to my sister, or haply to her
who folds me fast in her arms;
most safe are secrets known to but one-
the songs are sung to an end."

Here's some more information for you about the festival itself from the "Tall Ships Richmond 2011" handout to ship captains:
"The ASTA Tall Ships (American Sail Training Assoc) are returning to Steveston/Richmond in June of 2011 as part of their race series that will take the tall ship fleet to five Pacific ports.
A century ago the biggest and fastest sailing ships from the world over came to Steveston's Cannery Row in Richmond to load cargos of pacific salmon for international markets.
Today Steveston harbour remains Western Canada's largest commercial fishing port and is home to several maritime heritage sites.
An international fleet of tall ships will sail into Richmond on June 3 for a four-day land and sea festival celebrating Richmond's rich maritime and sea-faring history.
Festivities begin with a Parade of Sail as the ships arrive on June 3.
The ships will be open to the public for boarding and viewing, there will be cultural displays and activities, markets and live entertainment, youth sail training and fireworks.
The ships will be lit up at night with colorful lights. In 2002 the award-winning Richmond Tall Ships festival drew more than 400,000 spectators."

So you can see that Munin will celebrate her 10th birthday with the whole world invited.
Our Viking Ship will travel to the festival via the water, on June 1st and this will be a huge voyage for her and her crew.
We hope to sail/row the whole way.
Two teams of 8 people will cast off shortly after sunrise to make use of an ebb tide, which will help push us out of English Bay.
A companion boat will be very close the entire way for safety and media, and will have the 'off duty crew' onboard until it's their turn to man Munin.
Each team will take 2 shifts of ~2.1/2 hours, switching at predetermined times along the way, and our ETA is for late afternoon/dinner time.
Again the tide will be in our favor, with a large flood assisting us up the south arm of the mighty Fraser River.
We'll have a birthday celebration during this week, with details to be announced.
The call is out for crew to sign up and join us.
Training and commitment is required for this amazing and exciting opportunity. For more adventure, we'll need help returning Munin to her dock on June 8.
There will be an opportunity on each leg of the trip for one lucky person to purchase a spot on this voyage.
Join the crew with pulling on ropes or an oar, there is even a wee chance we might spot large wildlife on/in the sea!
